The Fox and Hounds at Exton

Fox and Hounds, Exton

This substantial Inn has a public bar to the left and a slightly more upmarket restaurant to the right. Rooms available at a reasonable price. We had a snack lunch and were well satisfied.

Exton is a charming and quiet village with a pleasant village green , an Old Hall and a remarkable church. Originating in the Doomsday book the village and estate have been owned by the Noel family since the 17th century when they bought it from the Harringtons. The Noels have clearly taken their responsibilities seriously and the village is extremely pretty.

The war memorial comemorates the dead from 1914-18 including three of the Noel family - one of whom was the first VC of the First World War and another who was awarded the MC and bar.
