Catworth and Tilbrook
A winter walk not far from home where we ventured out into a cold north wind and walked across the pleasant rural and rolling fields of Huntingdonshire. We started from Catworth, just off the A14 past Spaldwick, and walked to The White Horse at Tilbrook for a very good Sunday lunch. The pub separates the bar (with low tables, a narrow dog and skittles) and the restaurant (conservatory, well laid tables ideal for a family Sunday lunch) in just the way we like it. In the afternoon we completed the circuit back to Catworth, avoiding the rain until we were safely in the car and on the A14 again. Though hardly an adventurous walk it was a good trot of 10 miles across countryside which was in many ways more interesting than Cambridgeshire and more like Northamptonshire. So the Huntingdonshire Country Walks sign is more promising than you might think.... This walk in Huntingdonshire means this was the 17th county we have walked in. Only 22 to go! |
