Silbury Hill near Avebury

Within a mile or so of Avebury Ring sit the upturned pudding basin that is Silbury Hill and the long low burial chamber of West Kennet Long Barrow.

This area is good walking and fascinating pre-history, from a period around 2500 BC. It is said that, at 130 feet high, Silbury Hill is the tallest man-made mound in Europe.
