Stapleford
to Brabraham This pleasant walk is from the village of Stapleford across fields, by a river, through new plantings, past a "pocket park", via an attractive church (pictured here in sunnier days) and to the relaxing gastropub the George at Babraham. Flat and easy in most weathers it's worth having a windproof jacket for the last section past the black barn to Stapleford as, if there's the slightest wind, you'll feel it here. Directions here in Word format Variants include tacking on a section along Mingle Lane to Shelford railway station or taking in Wandlebury Ring and Gog-Magog Down instead of Stapleford. You also pass an attractive aspect of Babraham Hall. All in all an easy and attractive circular walk of a little over 9 miles. A short version of this walk, omitting Brabraham, is featured at the Shelford Village website. |
