Online newspaper resources
Buying a range of local and national newspapers is the best starting point for these activities.
We can’t assume that our pupils are familiar with any newspapers at all!
There are also online news sources to provide examples of written language, layout and topical ideas.

Teachers with adequate access to ICT resources might encourage students to produce either a desk-top published newspaper, taking part in one of several News Day activities arranged by national newspapers, or produce an online multi-media newspaper - see the BBC news pages as an example.
